Ein Ranzen für Nele
The project focuses on the start of school life. For many children, a new school backpack is a given – for others, it represents a significant financial hurdle. A school backpack stands for equal opportunity, self-confidence and a successful start to school life.
Our contribution
Five donated school backpacks, distributed to children in need via charitable organizations such as the local food banks.
Animal welfare
Tierschutzverein Mülheim an der Ruhr e.V.
For more than 60 years, the association has cared for mistreated and abandoned pets and farm animals in the region. It campaigns against all forms of animal cruelty and advocates for better living conditions. Volunteers visit schools and kindergartens to raise awareness.
Our contribution
Support in the fight against illegal animal trade and abuse through inspections and checks.
Homeless and disadvantaged people in Cologne
Kunst hilft geben
The association cares for homeless people in Cologne – more than 6,000 people are affected. It helps with finding housing, dealing with authorities and applications, provides rental deposit guarantees and helps with furniture procurement.
Our contribution
Support in distributing food and clothing, as well as enabling excursions and art workshops.

For many years, the foundation has been committed to improving quality of life in the city – in the areas of culture, social affairs, urban development, the environment, and child- and family-friendliness. Volunteers also help with refugee integration.

Support for social and cultural causes, including graffiti removal and renovation of the mourning hall at the old town cemetery.

Mülheimer Initiative für Klimaschutz e.V.
Founded in 2008, the association fosters open dialogue between politics, city administration and citizens for better climate protection. Projects such as the bee education trail or the "Oase Unperfekt" community garden in Styrum also inspire young people.

What began as an idea from Axel Springer to improve children's safety in road traffic has grown into an internationally active aid organization. Since 1978, more than 385 million euros in donations have been raised. Its areas of assistance include education, health, poverty alleviation and environmental protection.
Covid-19 commitment
Hilfe für Einzelhandel und Gastro
The Covid-19 crisis has taken a toll on the entire economy – small, owner-run shops and restaurants in particular have had to fear for their survival. Wellhöner Immobilienmanagement GmbH und Co. KG stood up for affected businesses in the region.

Bergmannsampel für Mülheim
Mülheim an der Ruhr looks back on a long mining history. On October 28, 2019, the first "Bergmannsampel" (miner traffic light) was installed on Nordstraße, directly next to the Erich-Kästner-Grundschule – financed through donations.

The "ELE-PHONE" offers children and young people a reliable point of contact for any form of abuse. This free support service run by AWO Mülheim an der Ruhr e.V. protects and supports vulnerable children and young people in the region.
